Surface preparation

Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of dirt, rust, oil, soluble salt or water, grease, wax, loose paint and any other contaminants.

  • Catalyst 774-000B
  • Mix 8 parts by volume of component A and 1 part by volume of component B.
  • A finishing type nozzle is recommended to obtain an even glossy finish.

For conventionnal equipment:

  • Reduce the material to a viscosity of 20-25 sec on a FC#4 before the application.
  • The pressure at gun should be approximatively 40-50 pounds⁄in2 at the tank of 18 lbs⁄in2

For "airless" equipment:

  • Reduce the material with thinner to a viscosity of 25-35 sec FC#4 before the application.
  • Do not leave the paint in the hose, guns, pump. The equipement has to be well cleaned with Sunamco cleaning thinner 100-113
  • After 24 hours drying time, it is recommended to scuff sand before applying and other coat in order to obtain a better intercoat adhésion.

Due to the wide variety of substrates, surface preparation methods, application methods, and environment, users should test the complete system for adhesion and compatibility under their conditions prior starting their production.

N.B. To make adhésion, hardness, flexibility, impact test, or any other test, it is recommended to wait 7 daysat 20ºC (68ºF) and 50% humidity to enable the chemical reaction to be completed. If conditions are not fits outlined, the reaction time could be longer.

Do not apply at temperatures below 10oC or 50oF otherwise drying and the hardness will be affected.

  • Must have good ventilation for the application and drying.
  • Always consult the safety data sheet before the application.
  • Users must wear security equipment, such as goggles, gloves, mask, etc.
