Surface preparation

Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of dirt, rust, oil, soluble salt or water, grease, wax, loose paint and any other contaminants.

We recommend to use minimum commercial preparation standards as SSPC-SP6 or SSPC-SP3

SSPC-SP6 sandblasting standard would be much more appropriate and strongly recommended for better corrosion resistance.

Surface temperature must be at least 3oC higher to the dew point temperature in order to avoid condensation.

Hardener  7050B

Mix 2 parts by volume of Sunaguard (part A) and 1 part of 7050B.

A finishing type nozzle is recommended to obtain an even glossy finish.

For conventional equipment:

Reduce the material with thinner to a viscosity of 20-30 sec FC#4 before

Pressure at gun should be approximately 30-50 PSI and 9-12 PSI in pressure tank.

Do not leave the paint in the hose, guns and pump. The equipment has to be well cleaned with Sunamco cleaning thinner 100-113

After 24 hours drying time, scuff sanding is required before applying an other coat in order to obtain a better intercoat adhesion.

Due to the wide variety of substrates, surface preparation methods, application methods, and environment, users should test the complete system for adhesion and compatibility under their conditions prior starting production.

N.B. To make adhesion, hardness, flexibility, impact test, or any other test, it is recommended to wait 7 days at 20ºC (68ºF) and 50% humidity to enable the chemical reaction to be completed. If conditions are not fits outlined, the reaction time could be longer.

Do not apply at temperatures below 10oC or 50o F otherwise drying and the hardness will be affected.
